Carbs and Diabetes
Carbohydrates are the most complex, yet noncomplex thing for a diabetic. In this case I will be talking about type one diabetics and their nutrition/health. Carb counting is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a diabetic's nutrition. To sum it up carb counting is counting the amount of carbohydrates in the food you are eating and using that number to see how much insulin you will take. You have a carb to insulin ratio which is basically for every certain amount of carbs equal a unit of insulin. For example, if the ratio is 8:1 and the meal you're eating has 32 carbs then you will take 4 units of insulin with it. This regulates the person's blood sugar and works out in the end.
